Artist Statement
All of my work springs from a fascination with “what ifs,” the edges of things, and what might have been or is about to be. By focussing on minute details and obscuring, or even avoiding a definite Subject, I seek to create questions instead of delivering answers; to open portals that invite hidden journeys.
Process Statement
Slowing down time, being transported, and the acute awareness of space, are integral to my process.
To achieve this state I work within a set of constant and self-imposed rules that free me from incremental technical decisions. This way I can rely on my intuition in responding to the elements of chance that appear in the spaces just outside my control. I feel as if I'm a painter, but with no talent for brushes and paint, I turn to camera and film to render my feelings and impressions.
